A note from the Execs…

To the parents and teachers involved in CityStep, we would like to thank you so much for participating in our program and for your incredible support! It is due to your involvement that CityStep is such a success. We’re so happy to have the opportunity to work with all of you this year! Thank you!

Not involved in CityStep? Get involved!

CityStep looks for new classrooms to work with every year. As a part of CityStep, Harvard students conduct biweekly 45-minute sessions with Cambridge public middle-school students in the students' classroom. The carefully-designed curriculum covers the basics of dance and choreography as part of an effort to provide new means for self-expression, encourage creativity, promote teamwork, create community, and bolster self-confidence in its participants. After one year with CityStep, all our program participants are invited back for our second- and then third-year programs, which take place after school and offer a more advanced dance-theater experience. See our curriculum for more information.

If you are interested in getting your child or class involved in CityStep, please contact us.

"We have all been impressed with the sense of commitment these volunteers have shown... we see a real interest in the welfare of children and a desire to enrich their lives. The proof is in the results. The performances by CityStep are a joy for the audiences and bring enormous pleasure and satisfaction to the students."
