CityStep Class Structure
First Year Program (1YP): fifth grade; two days a week for 45 minutes each; in-school
Second Year Program (2YP): sixth grade; two days a week for 90 minutes each; after school
Third Year Program (3YP): seventh grade; two days a week for 90 minutes each; after school
Navigating the CPSD Transition
With the reorganization of the Cambridge Public School District to introduce Upper Schools for 6th through 8th grade, CityStep has adjusted its own structure slightly. For the 2012-13 school year, CityStep will continue to build on its relationship with the Amigos School while expanding to the Tobin Montessori School by offering 1YP classes for fifth-graders in each of those schools. CityStep will also run three 2YP classes for sixth-graders at Amigos, the Cambridge Street Upper School (the upper school for Fletcher-Maynard students), and the Putnam Avenue Upper School (the upper school for Kennedy-Longfellow students). Finally, CityStep will continue to offer an advanced 3YP class for current seventh-graders who participated in one of our 2YP classes in the 2011-12 school year. This means that every CityStep student who participated in a 1YP or 2YP class in 2011-12 will have the opportunity to continue with CityStep in the upcoming year.
