I. CITYSTEP IN NYC

On January 14th, CityStep held its first ever Alumni Benefit in New York City. The event was a huge success that brought former CitySteppers from across the decades for a fabulously fun night. The evening was full of reunions, great food, and a very entertaining magician. The event was a result of an incredible amount of work put in by Laura Weidman '04 and Susanna Brock '06, who got this annual tradition off to an amazing start. A huge thank you is also due to the Stephen and Jo-anne Brock, who donated their lovely home to the event.

The benefit also featured a silent auction that included a huge array of amazing donations from very generous alumni. We've decided to open up bidding on some of the items to the alumni e-mail list. The list and instructions are included below. If you are interested, please peruse the list and e-mail your bid by April 6th.

II. RECONNECT WITH YOUR CLASS

In an effort to give the Grad Board some more structure and to help alums keep in touch with one another, we're debuting the new Class Liaison Program. We're hoping to get one alum from each class to agree to act as a liaison between CityStep and their fellow alums. The position has very few responsibilities; it just includes sending out periodic e-mails. Class Liaisons are also encouraged to attend Grad Board meetings, held twice a year at Harvard, but are not required. If you are interested, please e-mail radams@fas.harvard.edu.

III. THE SHOW!

The 2006 CityStep Show will be held April 7th & 8th! This year marks the show's return to the Harvard campus as we will be performing at the very beautiful Sanders Theatre after three years off campus. The theme of this years show is Louder Than Words, in which the students will be interpreting through dance the words of world leaders and icons! As always, we'd love to see as many alums as possible at the show and of course, everyone is invited to join us at the end of the show to perform the Finale. There will be three performances: 7:30pm on Friday, 1:00pm on Saturday, and 5:00pm on Saturday. Tickets are $6 for students/$8 general and are available through the Harvard Box Office. On Saturday morning, we'll have our annual Spring Grad Board Meeting at 9:30am in the Adams Small Dining Hall. More information about that is below.

IV. SPRING GRAD BOARD MEETING

At the Spring Grad Board meeting, we'll be proposing a new charter for the Grad Board. At the last Grad Board meeting, we discussed broadening the Grad Board's function to become the CityStep Alumni Association. If you
would like a soft copy of the charter that will be proposed, please reply to this e-mail. We'd love to have as many alums as possible at this meeting to discuss the charter.

V. AUCTION!

The CityStep fundraiser in January featured an amazing collection of donations in a silent auction. To get all of the alums in on the action, we decided to open up the auction to the entire email list? Never done an e-mail auction before? This is how it works:

Please see below for descriptions of the various items. Then, if you see something on which you would like to bid, email lweidman@post.harvard.edu BEFORE April 6th with the following two numbers: First, your bid (how
much you want to pay). Second, your cap (the highest you will go). Once Laura has received all the bids and caps at the end of the week, she will figure out which is the highest bid for each item and whether there is anyone who would bid higher than that (that is, is there a cap higher than the highest bid). The person with the highest cap will get the item for $10 more than the second-highest cap (or for their bid, should their bid be the highest). If this is too confusing, don’t stress just bid and let her do the math. :)
